What to Expect After Your Skin Tag or Chemical Peel Treatment Healing, Aftercare, and When to Schedule Your Next Visit
Skin Tag Removal

Welcome to the very first blog post from Laced by Lonice! I’m so excited to kick things off by talking about two of our most popular services — Skin Tag Removal and Chemical Peels. If you’ve had either treatment (or you're thinking about it), you might be wondering what comes next. Let’s walk through the healing process, what to expect, and how to get the best results.

Let’s Talk Skin Tag Removal

Once your skin tag is removed, less is more. The area might feel slightly sensitive or appear darker at first — that’s totally normal. The key is to avoid touching or picking at the spot while it heals. Keep the area clean and dry for the first 24 hours, and if I gave you a healing ointment, use it as directed. As your skin does its thing, a tiny scab may form — let it fall off naturally to avoid scarring and allow the skin underneath to fully heal.

What to Expect After a Chemical Peel:

Chemical peels work by gently removing the outermost layer of skin, revealing a smoother, more radiant layer beneath. After your appointment, your skin may look a little pink or feel tight for a day or two — totally expected. Peeling often begins around day 3 or 4. During this time, treat your skin like it's recovering from a sunburn. Use only gentle cleansers and moisturizers, avoid exfoliating, and skip the makeup for a few days. And don’t forget the sunscreen — fresh skin needs protection!

How Long Does Healing Take?

Most clients see noticeable changes within 7 to 10 days. Redness fades, skin feels smoother, and that natural glow starts to shine through. Full recovery can vary from person to person, but within two to four weeks, your skin is ready for another session if needed. If you’re looking for lasting results, regular treatments and great skincare between visits make all the difference.

Bonus: Don’t Forget Your Brows

While we’re known for our skin services, one of our estheticians also offers brow shaping — perfect if you want to enhance your natural look or clean things up between facials. It’s not our busiest service, but if you’re curious, it might just be your new favorite add-on.

The Bottom Line

Whether you’ve booked a skin tag removal or a chemical peel, your skin is on the road to renewal. Follow the simple aftercare, stay consistent, and trust the process. If you ever have questions along the way, I’m just a message away.
